Burlington’s Ribfest, which takes place Labour Day weekend (September 2 to 5), needs volunteers – lots of them! Organizers turn to community groups for help. To say thank you, Ribfest will make a donation to that group’s favourite charity – and Speroway in support of Home of Grace is our favourite charity!
Security/Hospitality: There are over 300 shifts that need to be covered over the five days. Shifts are 4 to 5 hours each over the hours that the event is open. This is mostly controlling the flow of people at the gates, being a “presence” at the event and answering directional questions. There will be police and and a paid security force there for serious security issues. Because the entire venue is licensed, security volunteers are encouraged to have their SmartServe certification, but this is NOT a requirement. Rotary will pay for you to get it through an online course if you are signing up for several shifts. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
Your volunteer hours qualify for a contribution to Home of Grace when you sign up with Home of Grace as your cause: Select Humanity from the drop down list, then select Speroway/Home of Grace from the Humanity drop down list that appears.
The link to sign up will appear on this page once set up.
Consider inviting neighbours, teammates, classmates, co-workers or friends to serve with you! Why not sign up for two shifts?
We also need you to spread the word so we can fill as many spots as possible! Share this opportunity. You can use the sharing buttons on this page.
Thank you from Home of Grace.
